‘Ahnsangsoo’s’ New Letter Family
‘Ahnsangsoo Rounded’ is now available in book form
AG Ahnsangsoo Rounded is a new family of letters from Ahnsangsoo by designer Ahn Sang-soo. Like Ahnsangsoo 2012, the rounded version of Ahnsangsoo, it is reconstructed as a multivalued ternemotl font, with rounded stem ends and bends, and Hangeul group kerning is applied to even out the irregularly spaced letters due to the structure of the base being aligned down the center of the hole.
The Ahnsangsoo Rounded Type Specimen contains an introduction to Ahnsangsoo Rounded, Hangeul group kerning, plate making, and typography manuals, and is characterized by the use of Korean font terms. The book is written in both Korean and English to broaden the range of readers. This is a full-fledged introduction to fonts following the Ahnsangsoo 2012 Type Specimen, and will be an interesting book for designers as well as the general public interested in fonts.
