From Typojanchi which took on the theme of ‘life’ in the pandemic era, to ‘The Most Beautiful Book’
The Korean Society of Typography was founded in 2008 to study letters and typography. LetterSeed is a typography journal published by the Korean Society of Typography since 2009.
LetterSeed 21 took on the theme of ‘life’ in the pandemic era and opened with the somewhat odd exhibition title of ‘Turtle and Crane’, and the planning process and review of Typojanchi 2021, a Korean variable font system that creates letters by adjusting the stroke value of glyphs, Stemfont, and reviews of a Korean workshop that has gained attention due to the influence of the Korean Wave, and touched on the concerns and new attempts of typography that seemed to have stopped the world but did not stop at all. In particular, in the appendix of Issue 21, the 2020·2021 Best Book Design from Korea and the 2020 Best Book Design from all over the World, you will be able to encounter the ‘beauty’ of the selected works and the question of ‘what is a beautiful book?’
