He is a writer, designer, and educator who co-founded the New York-based design studio 2×4, where he serves as a creative director. Over the past thirty years, he has closely collaborated with a wide range of figures—including Miuccia Prada, Rem Koolhaas, Germano Celant, Kanye West, and Virgil Abloh—while teaching at Yale University, Harvard University, Columbia University, and the Jan van Eyck Academy, and contributing to publications such as The New York Times, I.D., and Eye.
His major clients include Prada, Miu Miu, Apple, Google, Samsung, Nike, MTV, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Harvard Art Museums, the Arumjigi Foundation, Target, Vitra, and CCTV. He received the Rome Prize from the American Academy in Rome and currently serves as a trustee of his alma mater, the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). His forthcoming book is Coherence.
