Social design critic Choi Bum looks at Korean society through design
The design critic Choi Bum examined hard truths among Korean design circles. These essays have been contributed to many different media outlets over the past three years, and discuss recent issues, such as Design Seoul, the “2016 political scandal,” and controversies around the Statue of Peace. The author talks about his thoughts concerning this by saying “This book seems to give an opportunity for me, a design critic, to grow as a social critic.” When it comes to linking design in society and society in design, how should we—the public and designers—think and act in today’s society? Choi Bum reveals his views without hesitation in the shoes of his readers.
