Hirano Kouga

平野甲賀

Hirano Kouga graduated from the Department of Visual Communication Design at Musashino Art University and worked in the PR department of Takashimaya before becoming a freelance graphic designer. Beginning in the 1960s, he actively participated in the underground theater scene, creating numerous posters. From 1964 to 1992, he was responsible for book design at Shobunsha Publishing, where he designed nearly all of its publications. His contributions earned him the Kodansha Publishing Culture Award for Book Design. In 2007, he developed the typeface Kouga Grotesque 06.

Graduated with a degree in Interior Design from the École Municipale des Beaux-Arts Appliqués in Lyon, France, and worked as an interior designer at LG Chem. Currently, teaches and explores architectural spaces with students in the Department of Interior Architecture at Daegu Haany University.
IDR

IDR is a combination of letters reminiscent of ordinary English words such as idea and ideal. It is intended to be a more free architecture that responds flexibly to various external conditions without being bound by a specific logic or theory. Questioning what is taken for granted in our cities and architecture is the starting point of his work, and he is particularly interested in the role of architecture as a mediating background between users and everyday life.

Fraser Muggeridge

Fraser Muggeridge attended the University of Reading in the 1990s and studied in the Department of Typography & Graphic Communication. He worked for Sara Chapman at The Letter g before establishing his own studio in 2001. In 2010 he founded the annual Typography Summer School as a way to introduce students to the instruction he had enjoyed at Reading. The artist, working based in Seoul, embodies multi-layered inner structures in layers of overlapped colours and refined symbols.
