Established in 2017, the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism explores the diverse challenges arising from rapid urban growth through the lens of architecture and urbanism. With a focus on Seoul and other global cities, the Biennale seeks to address pressing urban issues and propose innovative solutions. The Biennale features Thematic Exhibitions centered on a specific theme, Guest Cities Exhibition showcasing pioneering public projects from around the globe, and On-site Projects that bring the theme to life. Additionally, the Biennale directs participatory programs such as Global Studios and educational workshops, providing a collaborative space where experts, government agencies, and members of the community can all come together to envision the future of Seoul.

Charles Wallschlaeger

An independent researcher and concept developer, he focuses on the overall composition and design of the social, technological, and commercial dimensions of businesses. His work pays particular attention to companies as permanent organizations and projects as temporary organizational structures.
Kang Ye-jin

She studied journalism at Yonsei University and worked in marketing and public relations in the corporate world. While pursuing her master’s program in arts management at Carnegie Mellon University, she worked for the public art team at Pittsburgh City Hall and later worked as a design strategy manager in the corporate world. She is a graduate of the Gulbab Academy and currently works as a translator for BarTranslation.
Naka Toshiharu

Born in Kyoto Prefecture in 1976. Graduated from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, The University of Tokyo in 1999, and completed a Master’s degree in Architecture at the Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo in 2001. kim Ju-gyeong

A lead researcher and type designer at AG Typography Institute , the designer has created typefaces such as AG Hunminjeongeum and AG Choteuktae Myeongjo . They have also directed, researched, and designed both AG original typefaces and custom corporate identity fonts, including Amorepacific’s “APHQ Hangul” , Projekt Produkt’s “PP Sans” , Hyundai Department Store’s “Happiness Sans” , and Jeju Air’s “Flight Sans.”
Fujimori Terunobu

Fujimori Terunobu is a Japanese architect and architectural historian. He studied at Tōhoku University before entering graduate school at the University of Tokyo. Whilst writing his thesis in the 1970s Fujimori formed the Architecture Detectives. In this group he and his colleagues searched the city to find and photograph early Western-style buildings. Park Chang-hyun

Based in Seoul, this architect designs architecture, spaces, and furniture. In 2013, they founded AROUND Architects, focusing on the social perspective of architecture. Kim Jae-hong

He graduated from Central St. Martins College Art & Design, UK, and has been active in VIDAK, the Korean Society Of Basic Design & Art, and the Korea package Design Association. Kwon Min-ho

Drawer, illustrator. He studied visual communication at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art (RCA) postgraduate program.
