Established in 2017, the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism explores the diverse challenges arising from rapid urban growth through the lens of architecture and urbanism. With a focus on Seoul and other global cities, the Biennale seeks to address pressing urban issues and propose innovative solutions. The Biennale features Thematic Exhibitions centered on a specific theme, Guest Cities Exhibition showcasing pioneering public projects from around the globe, and On-site Projects that bring the theme to life. Additionally, the Biennale directs participatory programs such as Global Studios and educational workshops, providing a collaborative space where experts, government agencies, and members of the community can all come together to envision the future of Seoul.

Simon Garfield

Simon Garfield was born in London in 1960. He is the author of an appealingly diverse and unpredictable canon of non-fiction, including the bestsellers Mauve, Just My Type and On The Map. He is a trustee of Mass Observation, and is the editor of several books of diaries from the archive, including Our Hidden Lives and A Notable Woman. His recent books include Timekeepers, In Miniature, and All the Knowledge in the World: The Extraordinary History of the Encyclopaedia.
Oh Seok-hui

Oh Seok-hui is an interdisciplinary engineer exploring metaverses, extended reality, user experience design, generative AI, games, and animation. He is currently a PD at the Cultural Contents Technology Promotion Center of the Korea Creative Content Agency, leading research and development projects and project planning in the field of cultural contents. Kim Jin-a

She studied education at Sookmyung Women’s University and holds a master’s degree in theater and education from the Freie Universität Berlin. She has been a lecturer at the Universität Duisburg-Essen and is currently working as a professional translator. Her translations include Schneewittchen muss Sterben , Mordsfreunde , Erebos , and Effekten af Susan .
Kim Tae-hwa

After majoring in video animation, he worked as a designer at SBS Digital News Lab’s Operational Content Team, overseeing the design of various brands and contents such as ‘SUBUSU NEWS’ and ‘MMTG’. Since 2021, he has also been designing eco-friendly commerce brand 175Planet.
Jeong Eun-ju

Jeong Eun-ju graduated from Korea University with a B.A. in English Literature and completed an M.A. program in Performing Arts at Seoul National University. She currently works as a freelance translator and editor. She has translated books such as GRAPHIC and other magazines and exhibition catalogs, as well as Ways of Hearing , Invisible , Never Use Futura , Encyclopedie Artwork Books , and The White Review Interviews .
Kim Dae-kwon

He started his career as a font engineer with the first project, “Malgun Gothic”, the first Korean hinting font for UI. He developed various plugins for font editors and gave many technical lectures. He enjoys various collaborations and conversations with font designers. He is currently in charge of mobile font download service at Font Bank and operates Line Gap.
Park Su-ji

An independent curator, operating the curatorial agency RARY and co-managing the curator platform WESS . Chung Byoung-kyoo

An editorial designer who graduated from Korea University with a degree in French Literature and studied design at École Estienne in Paris. In 1979, he co-founded the editorial company Yeoreogaji Munje Yeonguso with writer Lee Yoon-ki and later established Jung Byung-kyu Design in 1985, which continues to this day. She graduated from Seoul National University, Department of Applied Arts, and Tama Art University, Department of Graphic Design, Japan.
