Tsuzuki Kyoichi

都築響一

Kyoichi Tsuzuki was born in Tokyo in 1956. From 1976 to 1986, he was a freelance editor for the influential men’s fashion and lifestyle magazines Popeye and Brutus, where he wrote on contemporary art, design, urban living, and related topics. From 1989 to 1992, he published Art Random (Kyoto Shoin), a 102-volume series covering 1980s trends in global contemporary art. He continues to write and edit works on contemporary art, architecture, photography, design, and more. In 1993, he released the photobook Tokyo Style (Kyoto Shoin), which depicts the living spaces of Tokyoites in a raw, unfiltered context; in 1997, he received the Kimura Ihei Award for his photobook Roadside Japan (Aspect, 1997), which marked the start of a still-ongoing project to document roadside subjects both in Japan and abroad.

서울대학교 디자인학과 조교수로, 미디어 아트 그룹 팀보이드(team VOID)로 활동한다. 콘텐츠 제작 회사 매드제너레이터를 창립해 SK, 두산, 젠틀몬스터 등의 기업과 활발히 협업했고, 아르스 일렉스트로니카, 스코피톤, 일렉트라 등 다수의 해외 미디어 아트 전시에 참여했다. 서울대학교 전기공학부에서 공부했으며, 동 대학 기계항공공학부 뉴미디어랩에서 석사 학위를, 로스엔젤레스 캘리포니아대학교에서 디자인 미디어 아트 전공으로 미술 석사 학위(MFA)를 취득했다. 디자이너가 시대의 흐름을 이해하게 하는 근거이자 메시지를 담아낼 수 있는 중요한 매체로서 기술을 바라보며, 이를 시스템적 관점에서 창작과 연구로 확장하고자 한다.

Simon Garfield was born in London in 1960. He is the author of an appealingly diverse and unpredictable canon of non-fiction, including the bestsellers Mauve, Just My Type and On The Map. He is a trustee of Mass Observation, and is the editor of several books of diaries from the archive, including Our Hidden Lives and A Notable Woman. 라파엘 루나

라파엘 루나는 건축가이자 연구자, 교육자다. 건축사사무소 프라우드의 소장이며, 시드니공과대학교의 시니어 렉처러이자 인프라아키텍처랩(Infra-Architecture Lab)의 디렉터다. 매사추세츠공과대학교(MIT)에서 건축학 석사를, 스위스 멘드리시오건축아카데미(Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisi)에서 박사 학위를 취득했다. 2013년 미국건축가연맹 젊은건축가상을 수상했으며, 그의 작업은 뉴욕 현대미술관(MoMA), 베니스비엔날레, 서울도시건축비엔날레 등에서 전시되었고, 2019 서울도시건축비엔날레에서는 도시전 공동 큐레이터로도 참여했다. 국제적인 건축사사무소들과 협업해왔으며, 로드아일랜드 디자인 스쿨(RISD)과 한양대학교에서 강의한 이력이 있다. 주요 저서로는 『Seoul: Of Islands and Megastructures』 (2024)가 있으며, 《MONU》《Topos》 등의 건축 및 도시 전문 저널에도 기고했다.
