B.U.S Architecture

BUS Architects is an architectural design firm led by three partners: Park Ji-hyun, Woo Seung-jin, and Cho Sung-hak. The firm focuses on establishing diverse relationships between cities, culture, and people, drawing from meaningful imagination that can emerge through architecture and space.

Rather than emphasizing the “construction” of architecture, BUS Architects prioritizes the “process” behind it. In this context, “BUS” represents both a commitment to communication (as in a public bus) and a methodology rooted in an undefined starting point (By Undefined Scale).

Currently, the firm is working on various projects alongside two team members, Cha Seung-hoon and Kim Soo-bin.

Ko Bong-seok

He graduated from Hongik University and the Graduate School of Industrial Art. He is a member of the Korean Institute of Brand Design. He is currently the CEO of August Brand.
Kang E-Roon

He runs the design studio Math Practice in New York City and recently co-founded 908A, which researches and develops design tools for culture and the arts. He studied graphic design at Yale University and was a Special Research Fellow at MIT’s Sensible Cities Lab in the Department of Urban Planning. He has taught at the Bauhaus Weimar University in Germany, New York University ITP, and is currently an Assistant Professor at Parsons School of Design.
Jeong Jin-uk

Majored in Aesthetics at university and admires musicians who compose and transcribe invisible music. Believes that love resembles music in its essence. During times of turbulence, instead of leaning on a prewritten life, he embraces her uncertainties and writes imperfect sentences as if transcribing music, striving to play his future more vividly. He is the publisher of ESSAI , an independent magazine for minimalists, and the author of Etudes on Love .
최명환

대학에서 시각디자인을 공부하고 편집 디자이너로 커리어를 시작했다. 디자이너로서 인문학적 소양을 쌓고자 홍익대학교 대학원 미학과에 진학했다가, 디자인을 해석하고 표현하는 일에 소질이 있다는 사실을 깨달았다. 이후 다양한 매거진에 객원으로 참여하며 2013년 월간 『디자인』 기자로 정식 합류했고, 지금까지 디자인 전방위에 관련된 글을 쓰고 있다. 2021년부터 월간 『디자인』 편집장으로 활동 중이다.
Kim Eun-ha

She completed her doctorate in education at the University of Cambridge. She is currently a researcher at the Institute of Social Education, Korea University Continuing Education Center, where she develops programs for teachers.

Kang Ju-hyun

He runs the graphic design studio Occupy the City and is based in Seoul. He curated and organized the exhibition Occupy the City: Typozimmer Nr. 7 and participated in other exhibitions such as Korean Design: Transforming Forms and Tools of Communication . He is currently an adjunct professor at Konkuk University and teaches graphic design and typography at various universities.
Piers Bizony

A science journalist, filmmaker, and book creator, he began his career as a portrait photographer in London and has contributed articles on science, aerospace, and cosmology to various magazines in the UK and the US. From 2012 to 2018, he worked closely with Stanley Kubrick’s family on book projects and international exhibitions commemorating Kubrick’s films 2001: A Space Odyssey and Dr. Strangelove . IDR

IDR is a combination of letters reminiscent of ordinary English words such as idea and ideal. It is intended to be a more free architecture that responds flexibly to various external conditions without being bound by a specific logic or theory. Questioning what is taken for granted in our cities and architecture is the starting point of his work, and he is particularly interested in the role of architecture as a mediating background between users and everyday life.

Lee Kyu-chul

Lee Kyu-chul (1948-1994, Incheon) graduated from Hongik University in 1974, majoring in sculpture. In 1975, he left for Saudi Arabia, where he worked as an administrator and videographer for the Vinnell Company in the United States. Moon Ju-hwa

Film critic. Debuted through the 2024 Cine21 Film Criticism Award and began working as a critic. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Department of Art, Culture, and Film Studies at Pusan National University, conducting research on the representation of history in contemporary cinema.
