A designer studying the humanities at museums
The book looks at time-tested works of art from the perspective of design to discuss life’s wisdom and insight. Park deals with a variety of things, ranging from a hand axe, a chamber pot, a celadon bottle, and a famous painting Sehando displayed at a museum to the earlier generation’s everyday items such as oil lamps and large mortars. The author does not simply laud the excellent look or exterior of objects; he discusses the truth of life contained within things. By doing this, he believes readers will realize that it is not specialized design knowledge that brings about a glorious culture, but rather people’s intense attitude towards life and their own thoughts.
