Illuminating every moment of his life from offstage to onstage

This book is a collection of 138 photographs carefully selected from 6,000 photographs taken of Kim Sung-jae on the occasion of DEUX’s 30th anniversary. It was organized by Lee Hyun-do, who has been with Kim Sung-jae since high school, with the help of 205 Company, which has a great influence on the culture at large. All the photos in the book were taken by Ahn Sung-jin, a well-established photographer with over 500 album photos to his credit, and capture the heartfelt expressions of Kim Sung-jae, who was very fond of him as a close older brother. The book faithfully captures three years of his life, including his young face before he debuted as DEUX, his daily life that has never been shown to the public, and his on-stage appearance, including the B-cut of his album photos. In addition, Lee Hyun-do’s small stories behind the photos add to the book’s charm. It is a one-of-a-kind collection of records and a photo book that puts Kim Sung-jae face to face.

D&D Corporation

The company is headed by Lee Hyun-do (D.O), who manages all work related to DEUX. They are working on various projects to brand DEUX, such as reissuing DEUX’s existing albums on vinyl and launching a collaborative collection with VANS for the 30th anniversary of their debut.

Ahn Sung-jin

Ahn Sung-jin graduated from the Department of Theater and Film at Chung-Ang University in 1993. He has been photographing musicians’ record jackets since 1992 and has photographed more than 500 albums. He has photographed corporate advertisements for Samsung, LG, Motorola, Hyundai, Kia, and SKT, as well as launch ads for sports brands such as Puma, Adidas, and LeCap, beauty brands such as Laneige and The Face Shop, and most of Korea’s casual fashion brands. To this day, he is still one of Korea’s top photographers whose work has been widely recognized and recognized for its quality throughout the advertising photography industry. He was the visual director of Esquire Korea (2005-2010) and Numero Korea (2009–2010). He continues to shoot jacket photos and motion posters for ‘Monthly Yoon Jongshin’ (2011–).
