Rhee Pooroni
A graphic designer and illustrator based in Seoul. She majored in Painting at the Rhode Island School of Design and earned both her master’s and doctoral degrees in Visual Design from the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Seoul National University. Currently, she is a professor at the University of Seoul. In 2008, she was recognized as a Next-Generation Design Leader by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and was also selected as a Star Product Designer by the Korea Craft & Design Foundation.
Chris Ro
Chris Ro is a graphic designer based in Seoul, South Korea working on projects spanning both the cultural and commercial sector. Originally educated at UC Berkeley and the Rhode Island School of Design, the thinking behind Chris’ work connects a diverse range of concepts spanning architecture, graphic design, typography, motion, photography and form making. His work has been honored by the New York Type Directors Club, Tokyo Type Directors Club, Art Directors Club Global, Communication Arts Typography Annual, Print Magazine Regional Design Annual, The Korean Society of Typography, Output and The Cannes Cyber Lions. He was chief curator for the Typojanchi 2015 International Typography Biennale. Chris has exhibited his work around the world and his work has recently been added to the permanent collections at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Die Neue Sammlung in Munich, the Paris Museum of Arts Decoratifs and the National Hangul Museum in Seoul, South Korea. Chris currently teaches design, typography and form making at Hongik University in Seoul, South Korea.
James Chae
A designer and design educator based in Seoul. He graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and worked in web design and editorial design in New York and Boston. Currently, he is an assistant professor at Hongik University, where she continues his personal projects in editorial work, writing, and web design.
