Irene Korol Scala

Mentor, author, and passionate advocate of great type and thoughtful messaging, Irene pushes herself and her team to refine the craft of visual story-telling and developing brand authenticity.

Her credentials include a prestigious degree and full-tuition scholarship from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, where she had the opportunity to study with educators such as Paul Rand, Lou Dorfsman, and Milton Glaser.

Irene went on to postgraduate study at The Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. Upon returning to New York City, she joined a multi-disciplinary design studio, creating a variety of print and web communication pieces.

서강대학교 사학과를 졸업하고, 동국대학교 대학원에서 미술사학으로 석사와 박사 학위를 받았다. 1991년부터 간송미술관에서 우리 역사와 문화에 대한 안목을 길러 왔고, 조선시대 회화를 중심으로 우리 문화와 미술에 대한 강연과 글쓰기를 활발하게 하고 있다. 현재 간송미술관 연구실장으로 있으면서 동국대학교, 이화여자대학교 등에서 한국과 동양의 미술에 관해 가르친다. 지은 책으로 『조선의 묵죽』『선비의 향기 그림으로 만나다』와 공저서 『추사와 그의 시대』『진경문화』 등이 있고, 「탄은 이정」「조선 중기 수묵문인화 연구」「조선 왕조 도석화」「삼청첩의 역사성 연구」 등 다수의 논문이 있다.

서울과학기술대학교 기계시스템디자인공학과 교수. 2003년 LG전자에 입사한 뒤 다양한 모바일 UX/UI 개발 실무를 거치면서 LG전자 UI개발실 전략・기획 그룹장, SK텔레콤 UI기획팀 UX파트장을 역임했다. 2008년에는 Vinyl, DNA, PXD 등의 UI 전문회사들과 함께한 SK텔레콤의 스마트폰 OS UI개발을 총지휘하였고, 2009년부터는 현대기아자동차, LG전자, 삼성전자, SK플래닛 등과 대학 간에 다수의 UX/UI 과제를 수행하고 있다. 이러한 경험을 바탕으로 2010년부터는 T아카데미에서 모바일 UX/UI 기획 및 설계, 디자인전문가 과정 등을 강의하며 UX/UI 전문인력의 양성에 힘을 쏟아오고 있다. 성균관대 산업공학과에서 공학사 취득 후 KAIST에서 공학박사 (인지・인간공학 전공)를 취득했고 현재 UXPA협회 이사를 맡고 있다. 그동안 40여 편의 국내외 연구논문을 발표하였고 50여 개의 UI 특허를 출원・등록하였다. huhnkim@seoultech.ac.kr …

저술가, 디자이너, 교육자. 뉴욕의 디자인 스튜디오 2×4를 공동 설립하고 크리에이티브 디렉터로 일하고 있다. 지난 30여 년 동안 미우치아 프라다, 렘 콜하스, 제르마노 첼란트, 카니예 웨스트, 버질 애블로 등 다양한 인물과 밀접히 협업해온 한편, 예일대학교, 하버드대학교, 컬럼비아대학교, 얀반에이크아카데미 등에서 가르치고 «뉴욕타임스» «I.D.» «아이» 등에 기고했다. 주요 클라이언트로는 프라다, 미우미우, 애플, 구글, 삼성, 나이키, MTV, 뉴욕현대미술관, 로스앤젤레스카운티미술관(LACMA), 하버드미술관, 아름지기재단, 타깃, 비트라, CCTV 등이 있다. 로마 미국학술원에서 로마 학술상을 받았고 현재 모교인 로드아일랜드디자인대학(RISD) 이사로 재직 중이다. 출간 예정인 책으로 『일관성(Coherence)』이 있다.

Yoon Min-goo

Yoon Min-goo was born in 1989. Graphic designer and font designer. He draws letters and turns them into fonts. He has created various Korean fonts, starting with the web font Barngul in 2002. A separate interest is modern paleontology. He is fascinated by the process of providing letters as materials to workers in various fields and collaborating with them to produce unexpected results.
