Kelly M. Choi
Studied visual design and typography at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and The Basel School of Design. Currently runs the brand Once Type, exploring the visual potential of letters.
He is a graphic designer. After graduating from the Department of Visual Communication Design at Hongik University, he worked as a designer at Angraphics. He then went on to study “typography using mathematical algorithms” in the graduate program of Visual Communication Design at Musashino Art University.
Upon returning to Seoul, he served as a design director at Noon Design and took part in Jindallae’s collective activities, undertaking numerous projects that derive various forms from fixed modules—such as “10-key digital calligraphy”—and repurpose them as design tools. He is currently a professor in the Department of Visual Communication Design at Seoul Women’s University, where he continues to explore new three-dimensional lettering.
