The value of design in our everyday lives
This book is an introspective on Korean design and contemplates the quality of the humanities in design through the question “Why and for whom do we design?” Park particularly, pays close attention to the functions and characteristics of various products that are widely used on a daily basis, referring to them as “invisible designs”. The book is made up of 24 stories about things, such as Post-it notes, wooden chairs, dustpans, stairs, restrooms, museums, black diamonds and Finnish furniture, as well as people, including Kim Jeong Hui(a well-known calligrapher and scholar of Korea’s later Joseon period), and Nam June Paik.
