A Definitive Guide to Typography Terms of the Era
In the academic development of any field, organizing and standardizing terms and concepts is a vital task. In typography, this effort culminated in the publication of the Dictionary of Typography in 2012. Now, a decade later, the dictionary has been released in a revised edition.
The Dictionary of Typography is the result of collaboration among 34 experts from various fields of typography, led by the Korean Society of Typography. It systematically organizes 1,698 specialized terms and concepts, addressing the inconsistent and indiscriminate use of typography terminology over the years. Notably, this revised edition incorporates the social, cultural, and technological changes of the past decade, refining existing entries and adding new terms to reflect the contemporary perspective.
