Designer Chang Eung-bok’s unique approach
to collecting the colors and patterns created by nature’s light across the 24 solar terms
This book presents the work of Chang Eung-bok, a designer renowned for her distinctive creative methodology and the head of Mono Collection. Over the span of 10 years, Chang documented the visual imagery of nature, in which she extracted colors to create color palettes and combined them with symbolic patterns. These elements are organized according to the ‘24 Solar Terms,’ a traditional Far East Asian method of dividing the year into detailed seasonal segments. Each term is further divided into three textures, hence a total of 72 calendrical categories. Through her work, Chang seeks to enrich modern life and bring positive energy into everyday experiences. This book, filled with her intentions, stands as an object of good fortune in and of itself.
