A full professor in the Design Management program of the Department of Design Engineering at Chosun University. He graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Chonbuk National University, where he also earned a master’s degree in Design Management and a Ph.D. in Business Administration.
He previously served as a senior researcher at the IBRD Design Development Research Institute and the Design Strategy Development Team at R&C KOREA. Actively engaged in various academic societies, he is a director and editorial board member of the Korea Design Management Society, a director of the Korean Society of Design Science, and a director of the Korean Marketing Science Society.
His accolades include the Korea Marketing Association’s Excellent Paper Award of the Year (2001), the Korea Design Management Society’s Best Paper Presentation Award (2012), and the Korea Research Foundation’s Excellence in Convergence Evaluation Award (2013).
He has led design development projects for major companies and organizations such as Hyundai Motor Company, Kumho Tire, and the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology Evaluation and Planning. He has presented over 100 papers on design management at prestigious national and international conferences and journals, including the International Association of Societies of Design Research, the European Academy of Design, the Asian Design Academic Society, the Korean Society of Design Science, the Korean Marketing Association, and the Korean Academy of Management.
